Megan Fox has apparently claimed she has been shooting guns since she was five.

The Hollywood sex symbol told MTV News her father took her out target shooting when she was growing up in Tennessee, so she was well prepared for her new action film Jonah Hex.

Megan said: "When I was five and six years old, [my dad and I] went target shooting with shotguns, so I've handled a gun before - an enormous shotgun - when I was a little kid."

She went on: "I grew up in Tennessee, and my dad, as a hobby, is a duck hunter. He used to go kill ducks and bring them home, and we would eat them for the dinner... we would barbecue them."

But despite her background, Megan, who plays corset-wearing, gun-wielding beauty Leila in the new movie, confessed she is now scared of guns.

She revealed: "As a grown adult, I don't mess around with guns at all. I have a fear of them."
