Mark Wahlberg has said Justin Bieber will take people by surprise with his first dramatic role.
The Fighter star is set to collaborate with the all-singing, all-dancing teen idol in a still-in-development street basketball story, with Mark playing a mentor figure to Justin's character.
"It's something that would be very surprising to people, the kind of role that he would play, and what he would be capable of doing as an actor," Mark revealed.
"It's more like Paul Newman and The Hustler. You know, it's kind of like an older guy mentoring - a reluctant mentor to a young guy."
Speaking at Spike TV's Guys Choice awards, where he picked up trophies for Guy of the Year and Guy Movie of the Year for The Fighter, Mark admitted he hadn't seen Justin act yet.
But he added: "I've hung out with him enough and talked to him enough to know that I think we could make it real."
Meanwhile, Baby singer Justin picked up best jaw dropping moment for the documentary Justin Bieber: Never Say Never at the MTV Movie Awards this weekend.
