Lupita's Star Wars chat with Abrams
Lupita Nyong'o is tipped for a role in the new Star Wars movie after apparently meeting with director JJ Abrams.
The 30-year-old met with the filmmaker shortly before she picked up the Best Supporting Actress Oscar for 12 Years A Slave earlier this month, sources have told The Hollywood Reporter's Heat Vision blog.
It isn't known which role Lupita might be up for in Episode VII as plot details are firmly under wraps, but her meeting was apparently about the female lead.
The actress joins a long list of big names who have been linked to the next instalment in the sci-fi saga.
Her 12 Years A Slave co-star Chiwetel Ejiofor, Ed Speleers, Gary Oldman, Ryan Gosling, Leonardo DiCaprio, Saoirse Ronan, Alex Pettyfer, Benedict Cumberbatch and Michael B Jordan are among the other names that have also been rumoured for roles, and Adam Driver is apparently in final negotiations to play an undisclosed villain.
Film bosses have also held open auditions to fill two parts.
Harrison Ford, Carrie Fisher and Mark Hamill are tipped to be returning to reprise their original roles.
Star Wars: Episode VII will be released in December 2015.
