Justin Lin has revealed that saying goodbye to the Fast And Furious films was an "emotional decision."

Fast And Furious 6 marks the last movie for the Taiwanese-born film-maker, who has directed the last four films since 2006's The Fast And The Furious: Tokyo Drift.

"It wasn't an easy decision. It was a very emotional decision, but I think it's the right decision for me," he said.

"When I first entered the franchise, I had just done an indie movie, so for me to go on this journey and be a part of this tentpole successful franchise, it feels fulfilling and it's time to move on. I just feel like the timing is right and it's time for me to move on and do other things."

Justin is bowing out on a high, with the sixth instalment riding high in box offices around the world.

"It's been eight years of my life, we've become family but I feel like I've done everything I wanted to," he continued.

"This is the culmination of all our hard work. If you watch Fast And Furious 6 and if you have any questions throughout the other movies, it gets answered here."

The director is looking forward to find his next movie.

"I have a lot of small independent projects. These are choices I didn't have ten years ago and I'm looking forward to sitting down and being creative. I know in the next couple of weeks, something's going to float up and I will snatch that. That will be my next movie," he said.
