Liev Schreiber gets Butler's vote
Liev Schreiber will play President Lyndon B Johnson in The Butler.
Liam Neeson had been tipped to play the 36th President of the United States of America, who succeeded John F Kennedy after his assassination, but Deadline reported the Scream star has now been confirmed for the role.
The Butler will tell the true story of butler Eugene Allen, who worked in the White House over the course of three decades, starring Forest Whitaker as Eugene.
The all star cast already includes Oprah Winfrey as the butler's wife, David Oyelowo as his son, John Cusack as Richard Nixon, Alan Rickman as Ronald Reagan, and Jane Fonda as Nancy Reagan.
James Marsden will play John F Kennedy, Minka Kelly has been cast as his wife Jackie Kennedy, Robin Williams as President Dwight Eisenhower, Melissa Leo as Mamie Eisenhower, Alex Pettyfer as Thomas Westfall, and Vanessa Redgrave as Annabeth Westfall.
Other stars on board include Cuba Gooding Jr, Elijah Kelly, Jesse Williams and Mariah Carey.
The film is being directed by Precious' Lee Daniels and scripted by Danny Strong, who has written several political dramas for HBO.
Filming is scheduled to begin soon in New Orleans.
