Jennifer Lawrence has revealed that she couldn't wait to ditch her diet once X-Men: First Class was finished.

The Winter's Bone star wanted to look the part as blue-bodied mutant Mystique in Matthew Vaughn's prequel, so she went on a strict diet and worked out for two hours each day for the five month shoot.

"It was awful, I was hungry for five months - I'm still p***ed about it," she told the Hollywood Reporter.

"I'm slowly working my way back because I have to be able to eat like an a*****e."

Jennifer also had to spend eight hours a day in full body make-up, applied by a team of seven women.

"Nothing's sacred any more. Those girls and I got so close. They were painting me naked every day for months."

She joked: "It was kind of like going to a really bizarre sleepover. It's what you guys imagine we do - one naked girl and seven pairs of hands all over her."
