Law signs up for a Genius role
Jude Law is set to play American author Thomas Wolfe in Genius.
The 41-year-old actor has replaced Michael Fassbender as he joined Colin Firth and Nicole Kidman in Michael Grandage's indie drama, reported Variety.
The literary film, which is co-produced and written by The Aviator's John Logan, is based on A Scott Berg's biography Max Perkins: Editor Of Genius, focusing on the real-life relationship between the prolific novelist and renowned editor Max Perkins (played by Colin).
Genius will be produced by Michael and James Bierman from the London-based Michael Grandage Company, with Tim Bevan as executive producer.
"We are thrilled to have assembled such an extraordinary team around us as we move forward with this project, and we can't wait to begin filming," the producers said.
Shooting is expected to start in the UK and US from August.
Jude, who last appeared in Wes Anderson's The Grand Budapest Hotel, will next star in Kevin Macdonald's thriller Black Sea alongside Scoot McNairy, and has started filming Paul Feig's action-comedy Spy with Jason Statham and Melissa McCarthy.
