Jude Law has revealed his son seems much more relaxed about acting than he ever was.

The Dom Hemingway star's eldest son, 17-year-old Rafferty, from his marriage to Sadie Frost may be following in his father's footsteps after appearing in a short fashion film for tailoring brand Tiger of Sweden.

"To be honest I think he just did it for a bit of pocket money. He's more relaxed about it than I was. I suppose I saw it as a really big deal, and he's grown up with it being a part of his life, so he's a bit more Laissez-faire, but music is his passion."

He added: "I don't know if he is [following in my footsteps yet]. He's more a musician than an actor, and his music's wonderful."

Jude, who turned 40 this year, has always had a reputation for being a heartthrob, but his latest film Dom Hemingway saw him gain 30lbs to play a seedy, heavy drinking safe cracker.

Reflecting on his career he said: "I've enjoyed the work so far, you know... It started off with a bang, with all of these hopes and [thinking] 'My life's going to be different and I'm not going to do that any more, and do that...'

"Then as you head towards the summer, you start falling back on bad habits. You're not so interested in the new stuff that you've set yourself. But it's been eventful in areas."

He added: "This character reminded me of the part of London I grew up in. I love the contradictions of him, the violent eloquence, the passion and the sentimentality.

"If you look slightly different, people assume it's this deep character, but there are things in Dom that I'm more like than parts I've played when I look like I do now."

:: Dom Hemingway is in cinemas now.
