Kristin wants more modern roles
Kristin Scott Thomas has admitted she has had enough of period costumes.
The Oscar-nominated actress, who has been shooting Bel Ami with Robert Pattinson and Uma Thurman, is casting her eye out for roles which don't involve squeezing into corsets.
"I want to do something contemporary - I'm a bit fed up with corsets, to tell you the truth," she told Easy Living.
"I'm filming in a corset at the moment. It's a really great part: Declan Donnellan, the director, saw that I could perhaps do something else but be haughty and distant, which people always try to fit me into."
Kristin, whose next film Leaving is released on July 9, continued: "Sam Taylor-Wood also broke the mould slightly by casting me as Mimi in Nowhere Boy, but generally, it tends to be pretty much the same thing."
While she lives in Paris, she would gladly head back to English shores for the right roles.
"I love coming back to England more and more. I really love working in the theatre in London and can't wait to come back. I'm just waiting for the right play," she added.
