Lenny Kravitz has won a role in The Hunger Games film.

The US rocker, best known for belting out Are You Gonna Go My Way, has been cast as Cinna, Katniss Everdeen's (Jennifer Lawrence) personal stylist in the big-screen adaptation of Suzanne Collins' novel.

"When I saw Lenny's work in Precious I was just knocked out. It was quiet and strong and understated and open hearted; all qualities which define this character," director Gary Ross said in a statement.

Lenny, who made his acting debut as a nurse in Precious in 2009, with previous cameos in Zoolander, is racking up his film credits with a role in The Blind Bastard Club alongside Mickey Rourke and Rosario Dawson, and Selma with Robert De Niro and Hugh Jackman. He is currently working on his new album, Black And White America.
