Keira Knightley could be stepping into Marion Cotillard's heels in David Cronenberg's Cosmopolis.
The Duchess star had reportedly been tapped to take over from the French actress after she "left the project because of a scheduling conflict", said Deadline, with her name listed on the Alfama Films website alongside Robert Pattinson - but fans were left confused when her name disappeared hours later.
Paul Giamatti, who had been in talks for a role, is also notably missing from the list.
Twilight heartthrob Robert, the sole name on the site, would play newly-married billionaire Eric Packer, while Marion was tipped to play his wife.
Based on Don DeLillo's book of the same name, the film follows a day in Eric's life as he cheats on his spouse, is pursued by a stalker, gets attacked by a protester and gambles with his fortune.
Cosmopolis is expected to start filming in Toronto and New York in May.
