Sir Ben Kingsley could be reuniting with his Hugo co-star Asa Butterfield in Ender's Game.

The Oscar-winning actor is said to be in talks to join Gavin Hood's big-screen adaptation of Orson Scott Card's best-selling novel, reported Heat Vision blog.

He is tipped to play "a legendary war hero presumed to be long dead" in the upcoming sci-fi thriller.

Asa is already on board as a young man who develops military strategies through war games in an attempt to prepare for an intergalactic battle, while Hailee Steinfeld is also attached as the female lead.

Harrison Ford is being considered to play Colonel Hyrum Graff, although nothing official is in place yet.

Production is gearing up to shoot in February for a March 2013 release.
