Keri Russell has been signed up to star in supernatural thriller Dark Skies.

The spooky movie is being produced by Jason Bloom, the man behind low budget box office hit Paranormal Activity, and directed by Scott Stewart, who wrote and directed Priest and Legion.

Keri, who starred in The Waitress and Mission: Impossible 3 has just been confirmed to play the lead in the top secret story, Deadline has revealed.

The script, written by Scott, is being kept strictly under wraps, but is believed to involve an alien who disguises itself as a human being in order to abduct a young boy.

Keri will next been seen in romcom Austenland, about a woman who visits a Jane Austen theme park on holiday, in the hope of finding her very own Mr Darcy.
