Kellan Lutz is set for a tree-swinging adventure in Tarzan 3D.

The Twilight actor has apparently signed on to play the vine-slinging hero in Reinhard Kloos' animated feature, reported Variety.

Spencer Locke, who previously appeared in Resident Evil: Afterlife, is in talks to portray his love interest Jane.

Tarzan 3D, which has a script written by Reinhard, Jessica Postigo and Ice Age: Dawn Of The Dinosaurs' Yoni Brenner, is described as a fully animated CGI with motion capture.

Kellan, 27, is best known for playing vampire Emmett Cullen in the Twilight Saga series. He will be reprising the role in the epic finale, The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 2.
