Keanu reveals Bill and Ted 3 plot
Keanu Reeves has revealed the plot for the third Bill and Ted film
The Matrix star is set to reprise his role as slacker Ted 'Theodore' Logan alongside Alex Winter as his sidekick Bill S Preston Esq for the third instalment of the science-fiction comedy.
Keanu told GQ.com: "One of the plot points is that these two people have been crushed by the responsibility of having to write the greatest song ever written and to change the world. And they haven't done it.
"So everybody is kind of like: 'Where is the song?' The guys have just drifted off into esoterica and lost their rock.
"And we go on this expedition, go into the future to find out if we wrote the song, and one future 'us' refuses to tell us, and another future 'us' blames us for their lives because we didn't write the song, so they're living this terrible life. In one version we're in jail; in another we're at some kind of highway motel and they hate us."
The script was finished in March and Keanu and Alex are trying to get a studio and director interested so they can make the film.
The 47-year-old actor admitted it was hard to imagine the teenage friends grown old.
He said: "It's one thing to think about it, but to perform it..."
The Bill and Ted saga has continued past the movies with a 1990 animated series and a short-lived live-action series in 1992, which featured none of the original cast members.
