Juno Temple is in talks to play the queen in the new 3D adaptation of The Three Musketeers.

The 21-year-old British actress, who starred in the St Trinian's films, is in negotiations to play Queen Anne in the movie directed by Paul WS Anderson, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Orlando Bloom is in talks to play the Duke of Buckingham, while Inglourious Basterds Oscar winner Christoph Waltz has been cast as the villainous Cardinal Richelieu, nemesis to the three heroes.

Casino Royale baddie Mads Mikkelsen is to play Comte de Rochefort.

Milla Jovovich, Luke Evans, Percy Jackson star Logan Lerman and King Arthur actor Ray Stevenson are also in line to star in the new interpretation of the classic tale, produced and directed by Anderson.

Milla will play the Cardinal's spy Milady de Winter, while Logan is in talks to play D'Artagnan. Ray has been cast as Musketeer Porthos and Luke as Aramis.

The role will reunite Juno with Milla, both of whom recently wrapped shooting Dirty Girl, in which Juno plays the title role.

Based on Alexandre Dumas' novel, The Three Musketeers sees the young, determined D'Artagnan attempt to prove himself worthy of joining the three musketeers - Athos, Porthos and Aramis - to battle the evil Cardinal Richelieu.

Anderson co-wrote the script with Andrew Davies and filming is due to begin in September.
