Jolie to play Gertrude Bell?
Angelina Jolie is said to be eyeing up the lead role in a forthcoming biopic about British explorer Gertrude Bell.
The Tourist star - who has been busy working behind the cameras with her directorial debut In The Land Of Blood And Honey - is said to have "attached" herself to portray the influential English writer and archaeologist, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Ridley Scott is rumoured to be directing the drama, which will be written by The Constant Gardener's Jeffrey Caine. The film is still in very early stages.
Angelina was last seen in 2010's spy adventure Salt and thriller The Tourist, and she also lent her voice to Master Tigress in Kung Fu Panda 2.
Nicknamed the queen of the desert, Gertrude - who died in 1926 at the age of 57 - was highly respected for her extensive work in the Middle East.
