John Krasinski's Borrowed role
John Krasinski has signed up to star in new rom-com Something Borrowed.
The US Office star will appear opposite Ginnifer Goodwin in the movie, based on Emily Giffin's novel about a woman who falls in love with her best friend's fiance, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Krasinski plays her other best friend and confidante, in the film which director Luke Greenfield starts shooting this spring.
Production house Alcon has already bought the rights to the follow up novel, Something Blue, which features even more of Krasinski's character.
The announcement comes as Heat Vision blog reports that the actor will not be in the Captain America movie.
Gossip Girls' Chace Crawford, Smallville's Michael Cassidy, Brothers' Patrick Flueger, and Friday Night Lights' Scott Porter are also said to be among the actors who have been screentested for the role and ruled out.
Cloverfield's Mike Vogel, Wilson Bethel, of HBO's Iraq miniseries Generation Kill, and Fantastic Four's Chris Evans are still being considered.
The First Avenger: Captain America is scheduled for release on July 22 next year.
