Jessie Buckley has signed up for a new film with Oscar winner Olivia Colman and 'Fifty Shades' actress Dakota Johnson.
'The Lost Daughter' will be the first film directed by Maggie Gyllenhaal and will also star Peter Sarsgaard.
The film, written by Gyllenenhaal and based on the 2006 best-selling novel by Elena Ferrante, tells the story of an elegant college professor Leda (Colman) who becomes obsessed by Nina (Johnson), a young woman she meets on holiday, and her young daughter.
She watches them on a beach and becomes consumed with their relationship and that of their extended family.
She becomes overwhelmed by her own memories of the terror, confusion and intensity of early motherhood and begins to unravel.
It is not yet known what role Buckley will play in 'The Lost Daughter'. The 30-year-old from Kerry has starred in television drama 'Chernobyl' and the film 'Wild Rose'.
