Jason Isaacs has been in kickboxing training for new film Abduction - so that he doesn't "look like Norman Wisdom" when shooting action scenes.

The British actor, who is on a jury of judges at the Edinburgh Film Festival until the end of the month, stars opposite Alfred Molina and Sigourney Weaver in the upcoming thriller, in which he has a fight scene with Twilight's Taylor Lautner.

"With Abduction I can tell you this: I'm doing kickboxing every morning before I start my jury duty just so I don't look like Norman Wisdom when I start throwing punches," the 47-year-old said.

"I'm rather enjoying it," he added.

But despite his action training, Jason stamped out rumours he was ever in the running to play James Bond.

"There was Pierce Brosnan, then there was Daniel [Craig]," he said.

"There was never an opening. In fact, I think Dan is the perfect Bond. We played lovers on stage for a year and I always thought he'd be perfect. He's just a guy that exudes sex."
