Jackman's Real Steel 2 excitement
Hugh Jackman has admitted he's really excited his new action movie Real Steel is already set for a sequel, and is "knocking on wood" it goes ahead.
The Wolverine hunk stars as a down-and-out champion fighter in a futuristic world where robots have taken over the boxing world, who finds a discarded robot and builds him up to be a prize fighter. The film is not out until October but DreamWorks have apparently already asked John Gatins, who wrote the screenplay, to begin work on the next instalment.
Hugh said: "Hollywood's a town where there can be a lot of talk but I believe the writer's actually been paid - so things are kind of... that's a rare thing.
"Look I've seen the film I think it's really terrific, I'm very excited about it, I'm knocking on wood but I'm very proud of the film and hopefully people will like it and well see where it goes from there."
The 42-year-old actor is performing a one man song and dance show at San Francisco's Curran Theatre which opens in May, but is also getting in shape for the next Wolverine film.
He said: "I'm currently preparing, training and eating, getting ready for Wolverine because I'm doing another Wolverine movie."
Source Code's Duncan Jones has said he would like to direct the new Wolverine film.
Hugh said: "I've heard his name on the list. I'm not sure what his availability's going to be like so we'll see.
"He's a terrific director and I know Duncan, he's a really great guy."
