Eddie Izzard and Debra Winger are joining Dustin Hoffman and Kathy Bates in Boychoir.
The film centres around a troubled and angry 11-year-old, Stet, played by newcomer Garrett Wareing, who is sent off to a boys' choir school run by Dustin's character, choirmaster Carvelle.
Debra will play the principal at Stet's original school in Odessa, Texas, according to The Hollywood Reporter, while Kathy is already on board to play headmistress at the choir school, which is inspired by the American Boychoir School in Princeton.
Eddie is taking over the role of Drake, the choir master's right-hand man, which was originally going to be played by Alfred Molina.
Josh Lucas is also joining the cast as the boy's estranged father and Kevin McHale will play a young music teacher who champions his talent. Joe West and River Alexander will play other boys in the chorus.
The Red Violin's Francois Girard will direct the film from an original screenplay by Source Code writer Ben Ripley.
Filming is due to begin imminently in Connecticut and New York.
