Isla Fisher to join Great Gatsby?
Isla Fisher is said to be in talks to join the cast of Baz Luhrmann's film version of The Great Gatsby.
The Wedding Crashers star would play Myrtle, the wife of a gas-station owner who is having an affair with Tom Buchanan, Deadline reports.
It has also been revealed that Ben Affleck is no longer going to play the role of Buchanan in the big screen adaptation of F Scott Fitzgerald's classic novel.
Baz had been hotly pursuing Ben for the role, but The Town star is committed to making his new film Argo, about the 1979 Iran hostage crisis, in the Middle East. He therefore won't be able to fit Baz's production, on location in Australia, into his schedule.
Carey Mulligan, Leonardo DiCaprio and Tobey Maguire are all said to have signed up to work with the Moulin Rouge director on the period drama.
Last month Baz revealed his Great Gatsby adaptation, which he is considering filming in 3D, was on hold until he could decide how he would bring the story to cinemas.
He told New York magazine he was yet to make any final decisions about the project, adding: "I've been studying Fitzgerald now for three years, and my only act now is to absorb the DNA of his world, his life, the world of the novel."
