IRISH actor Jamie Dornan has landed the lead role in the movie version of ‘50 Shades’, according to reports.

The former Calvin Klein underwear model takes the place of Charlie Hunnam, who sensationally dropped out just a month after being announced in the role of Christian Grey.

Sons Of Anarchy star Charlie left the project as he was afraid of being typecast, like Robert Pattinson after the Twilight movies, according to reports.

32-year-old Dornan was brought up in Hollywood in Co Down – however he could be moving to the Californian version if the movie takes off.

The actor is best known for his roles in ‘Once upon a time’ and ‘The Fall’.

He also regularly pictured in gossip magazines as he dated Keira Knightly for two years.

Dornan has already screen tested last Friday opposite female lead Dakota Johnson for director Sam Taylor-Johnson, author EL James and producers Michael De Lucaand Dana Brunetti.

Tony-nominated actor Billy Magnussen also screen tested, as did Francois Arnaud from The Borgias, according to reports.

Pressure was on the find a replacement for Hunnam, as the project was due to begin filming on November 1st.

The studio hopes to have the movie in cinemas in August of 2014.
