Hugh Laurie set for RoboCop role
Hugh Laurie is reportedly in talks to join the RoboCop remake.
The British actor - whose hit TV show House recently came to an end after eight years - is tipped to play the villain in the reboot of the 1987 film, reports Variety.
The 53-year-old star would play the CEO of Omni Corp, which creates man-turned-machine RoboCop for its own gain.
If Hugh signs up he will be working with The Killing actor Joel Kinnaman, who has been cast as cop Alex Murphy, the man who is turned into the cyborg crime-fighter.
Abbie Cornish looks set to play Murphy's wife, while Gary Oldman is portraying the creator of RoboCop.
It has also been reported that Samuel L Jackson will play a TV mogul in Jose Padilha's upcoming movie.
Filming is set to kick off in Toronto this September and the film is expected to be released in 2013.
