Bryce Dallas Howard is in "early talks" to star in Jurassic World.

The Help star is said to be in initial negotiations to take a leading role in the fourth film in the Jurassic Park franchise, reported The Wrap.

Colin Trevorrow will direct the 3D dinosaur thriller, which he wrote with Derek Connolly, although details about the plot are being kept under wraps.

Jurassic World, which is being produced by Frank Marshall and Pat Crowley, is scheduled to be released in June 2015.

Universal postponed production on the project in May to give Colin and Derek more time to work on Rick Jaffa and Amanda Silver's original draft of the script, and allow executive producer Steven Spielberg to give some notes on the movie.

Colin previously said he would honour the original film.

He told Total Film: "We don't want to create a new scoop here, but we really want to honour what came before us. We are very aware of how much a certain generation especially cares about this movie and we talk about it all the time in conversations."

Bryce - the eldest daughter of filmmaker Ron - took time out of movies after the birth of her second child Beatrice, and was last seen in 50/50.
