Hoffman offered Catching Fire role?
Philip Seymour Hoffman is rumoured to have been offered a part in the Hunger Games sequel, Catching Fire.
The Oscar-winning actor is being considered for the role of Plutarch Heavensbee in the follow-up, reported Variety.
The character is the new Gamemaker of the Hunger Games, following the execution of Seneca Crane (Wes Bentley).
Jennifer Lawrence and Josh Hutcherson are expected to reprise their roles as triumphant heroes Katniss Everdeen and Peeta Mellark in Catching Fire, which will be directed by Francis Lawrence.
Liam Hemsworth and Woody Harrelson have also signed on for the next film, which is scheduled for release in November 2013.
Philip, who picked up an Oscar for his performance as Truman Capote in Capote, will next star in Paul Thomas Anderson's Scientology-influenced drama The Master as cult leader Lancaster Dodd.
