Greene: Twilight opened up career
Ashley Greene has revealed how a role in The Twilight Saga has given her new career options.
The 25-year-old left her hometown of Florida after finishing high school and moved to Los Angeles to pursue a career in Hollywood.
"In my second year in Los Angeles, when I was 18, I wasn't getting any bookings, so I stopped going out, stopped partying. It was a matter of getting to the work. I had to focus," she told US Esquire.
After she landed the part of Alice Cullen, the vampire sibling to Robert Pattinson's Edward, Ashley said the five subsequent films gave her the time and luxury of deciding what kind of career she wanted.
"What Twilight gave me was years to consider how I wanted to work otherwise," she added.
With the final Twilight instalment, Breaking Dawn: Part 2, hitting cinemas this winter, Ashley has a number of other roles in the pipeline, including the upcoming horror thriller The Apparition.
The actress also has roles in coming-of-age comedy LOL alongside Miley Cyrus and Demi Moore, and indie drama Butter with Jennifer Garner and Hugh Jackman.
