The show must go on... but there could be a clean-up to do first.

The 71st annual Golden Globes kicks off tonight in LA but disaster struck as preparations at the Beverly Hilton Hotel got underway.

A huge water leak on the red carpet prompted calls to the Beverly Hills fire brigade who arrived at the scene.

The team were faced with a stained red carpet as it appeared one of the drains under the walkway began to leak.

“Could be bad for long gowns,” E! producer and TV host Ryan Seacrest tweeted this evening.

He also posted two snaps of fire officers cleaning the carpet.

Film professionals and fans alike will have their eyes on the star-studded LA show tonight as gruelling slavery drama ‘12 Years A Slave’ leads the nominations.
