Foxx: I'm not a fan of spiders!
Jamie Foxx has revealed he hates spiders, despite starring in the new Spider-Man film.
The Oscar-winning actor, who plays besotted Spider-Man fan Max Dillon and his villainous alter-ego Electro in The Amazing Spider-Man 2, admitted he isn't a fan of the eight-legged creatures after one paid him an unwelcome visit while he was driving.
"I don't like them. You know what, I was driving one time in my car. I live in a country area and a spider was in my car. Man! I almost caused like a 24-car pile-up. I can't stand them," he said.
The 46-year-old - who MCed at the film's world premiere alongside DJ Spoony, as his co-star Andrew Garfield, who plays Spidey, danced - admitted joining the Marvel superhero franchise was quite an experience.
"It's a great feeling to come to work on a Spider-Man movie. I remember the moment I first stepped on to the set and I saw Andrew in the suit," he said.
"For me, it was like a moment in history. We're doing something that people really love. It's a part of our fabric, part of our culture. That was very meaningful to me, and it was a responsibility I took seriously - in crafting Electro, I wanted to be a formidable opponent."
Jamie spent four-and-a-half hours a day in the make-up chair to be transformed into Electro, with his glowing blue skin through which electricity appears to flow through.
"It was worth it, because once you get it on, you actually turn into Electro. So once I got into the blue, even my voice changed - I figured Electro's vocal cords had been burned," he explained.
He also relished the opportunity to do some stunts, saying: "A lot of the action, we get a chance to get our hands dirty. It was great."
