Forest Whitaker for Treasure movie?
Forest Whitaker is in talks to star in Little Treasure.
The Last King Of Scotland star would play one half of an American couple who return to the wife's homeland of China and have to cope with the prejudices and cultural differences involved, Variety reports.
Splinter's Michael D Olmos will direct the indie drama, which focuses on the couple coping with the life changes triggered by the move while meeting a Shanghai street kid who changes their lives.
The screenplay was penned by writer Josh Goldstein, who has worked on Disney's Jungle Cruise, Fresh Prince Of Bel-Air and the Jamie Foxx Show.
The project is due to start shooting on location in Shanghai next month.
Whitaker is appearing in comedy Our Family Wedding and will next be seen alongside Jude Law in sci-fi thriller Repo Men.
