First picture of Ben Affleck as Batman unveiled
BATMAN fans got a treat today after director Zack Snyder tweeted the first picture of Ben Affleck as the famous superhero.
The picture of Affleck in the famous cape was taken on the set of the new movie currently filming in Detroit.
The as yet untitled movie features Affleck's debut as Batman — following in the footsteps of Christian Bale, Michael Keaton and George Clooney.
Snyder, who is taking the reins on the sequel to Man of Steel, caused pandemonium when he shared a peek of the superhero's new ride, which Ben Affleck will drive, on Twitter.
"Could be time to pull the tarp...Tomorrow?" he teased.
The black-and-white photo showed the back of the Batmobile and the two back-wheels under a tarpaulin sheet covering the rest of the car. Batman's new vehicle is being housed in a dark warehouse.
Ben will play the Caped Crusader opposite Henry Cavill, who will reprise his role as Superman, in Man Of Steel 2. Amy Adams, Diane Lane and Lawrence Fishburne will also reprise their roles, alongside newcomers Holly Hunter, Callan Mulvey, Tao Okamoto and Ray Fisher.
The film - which will be released in May 2016 - is due to begin shooting imminently in Detroit, Michigan.
Fans were quick to notice subtle differences in Affleck's attire than the previous stars of the role.
The ears are slightly less pointed and the bat-symbol has increased in size on his chest.
The upcoming superhero movie is not expected to hit cinemas until May 2016.
