Film Review: In Fear

Nothing much to fear In Fear

Paul Whitington

In Fear (16, general release, 85 minutes)

Director: Jeremy Lovering. Stars: Alice Englert, Iain De Caestecker, Allen Leech.

A schlock horror picture from TV director Jeremy Lovering.

In Fear stars Alice Englert and Iain De Caestecker as a young couple who come to Ireland for a weekend holiday and soon have cause to regret it. Tom has booked a room at a fancy country hotel, but on the way they get lost on the back roads, and as darkness falls they realise someone is out to get them.

In Fear was made for next to nothing but that is not always a virtue. After an adequate start its storyline goes precisely nowhere, though Downton Abbey's Allen Leech saves the day somewhat playing a suspiciously chatty hitchhiker.
