Vera Farmiga has apparently joined Denzel Washington and Ryan Reynolds in the thriller Safe House.
Green Lantern star Ryan plays a young CIA agent assigned to get a dangerous criminal, played by Denzel, to another secure location after their safe house is attacked.
Vera will play a CIA operative supervising Ryan's character in the Universal film, Deadline.com reports.
Filming has already begun on location in South Africa on the thriller, directed by Easy Money's Daniel Espinosa and co-starring Brendan Gleeson, Sam Shepard, Robert Patrick and Liam Cunningham.
Production on the crime drama in Cape Town recently proved a little too thrilling for a neighbourhood that has experienced gang violence.
Callers to talk radio said they feared gang fights had returned to the town when they heard the sounds of automatic gunfire overnight.
Denis Lillie, head of the Cape Film Commission, said the movie's producers had been authorised to film a sequence involving car chases and the firing of blanks, and had informed residents in the immediate neighbourhood. But he admitted the sound carried further than expected.
