Fanning to blast off with Bomb
Elle Fanning is set to go nuclear with forthcoming drama Bomb.
The 13-year-old Super 8 star will play Ginger, a 'brainy' teenage rebel, while newcomer Alice Englert will star as boy-hungry Rosa in Sally Potter's new movie.
"Elle has a subtlety and range beyond her years. She can move you to tears, then light up the room with her radiant smile," the director told the Daily Mail.
As for 17-year-old Alice, the daughter of Oscar-winning director Jane Campion and filmmaker Colin Englert, Sally added: "She is a beautiful, intelligent young woman with the movies in her bones.
"Together, playing teenage rebels, they are sure to be a pair of firecrackers."
Set in London in the early 60s, filming on the BFI and BBC Films production is set to start in February 2012.
Elle - who has appeared in The Curious Case Of Benjamin Button, Babel and Somewhere - will next be seen in Francis Ford Coppola's Twixt and Cameron Crowe's upcoming drama We Bought A Zoo.
Alice is currently filming Roland Joffe's time-travelling romantic epic Singularity alongside Josh Hartnett and Neve Campbell.
