Zac Efron had "no issues" stripping off for his new film The Lucky One.

The film's director Scott Hicks said the High School Musical heartthrob wasn't inhibited by the steamy scenes he had to film for the movie.

"Zac was so comfortable... he couldn't have cared less about what we saw!" Scott told Magic 105.4.

"He is someone who is extremely comfortable in his own body and has no issues whatsoever.

"The great thing for me as director was that he and Taylor (Schilling, who plays love interest, Beth) completely abandoned themselves to those scenes," he added.

Meanwhile, 24-year-old Zac said that he misses his tent more than anything else when he's shooting his films.

"I like to get out and backpack and get lost in the woods, camping is one of my favourite things in the entire world, backpacking especially because then you get to go out when nobody is out," he said.

"I spend too much time in hotel rooms, what I miss is my tent."

Zac plays a US marine who finds love with Taylor's single mum character after returning from Iraq in the film, an adaptation of the bestselling Nicholas Sparks novel.
