Robert Downey Jr hopes that the third Iron Man film will outshine the others.
The Sherlock Holmes star is set to reprise his lead role as the superhero in the forthcoming follow-up, where he will reunite with Kiss Kiss Bang Bang director Shane Black.
"I think that we have an opportunity with the third Iron Man to make the best of the three, and maybe one of the better superhero movies that's ever been made," he told Omelete.
"But I think we have to remember what made the first one good. It was very character-driven. It was very odd. It was kind of outrageous.
"So I think we have to have the courage to trust that the audience is really kind of cool, and smart."
Robert - who will also return to the role in the upcoming Avengers - expressed his interest in Tim Burton's Pinocchio, in which he is rumoured to be starring as Geppetto.
"I want to talk to him about it, yeah! C'mon, it's Tim Burton," he added.
