Dornan's fears over 50 Shades fans
Jamie Dornan has revealed he is scared of being killed by an obsessed Fifty Shades Of Grey fan.
The Fall star, who is playing hunky billionaire Christian Grey in the big-screen adaptation of EL James' novel, admitted his fears in an interview with Details magazine.
"I almost don't want to put this out there into the ether, but I fear I'll get murdered, like John Lennon, by one of those mad fans at the premiere," he said.
"Because a lot of people are very angry that I'm playing this character. And I'm a father now, and a husband. I don't want to die yet."
The 32-year-old actor added: "And when I do get murdered, people will say, 'God, isn't it haunting how he did that interview in Details magazine and predicted his own death on the red carpet?'."
Jamie, who took over the role from Charlie Hunnam, is slightly worried about how his performance will be received once Sam Taylor-Johnson's film is released in February.
"Some people will think it's cool and sexy, some people will think the polar opposite. There will be people who think I'm terrible without even seeing the film!" he said.
He said he understands Christian's passion for bondage and dominance: "Even if you didn't have Christian's history of childhood abuse and abandonment, I totally understand why a person would be into it. Something like trainspotting or planespotting? I actually don't get that. But I do understand the psychology of being tied up and getting turned on."
Jamie, whose mother died when he was 16, revealed he was drawn to the role because it had to do with "an attraction and understanding I have for people that are broken in some way".
"Not that I'm some broken bird, but there's a massive element of me that's fractured from losing my mother so young, and I'm drawn to characters who are wounded," he added.
