Robert Schwentke has signed up to direct Insurgent, the follow-up to Kate Winslet film Divergent.
Divergent, Insurgent and Allegiant are a trilogy of films, based on Veronica Roth's sci-fi novels.
Robert stepped in as Divergent director Neil Burger will be unable to make the second movie, due out in 2015, because of work overlapping on the first, Deadline reported.
German filmmaker Robert is best known for 2010 action comedy Red, starring Bruce Willis, and 2009 movie The Time Traveller's Wife, featuring Eric Bana and Rachel McAdams.
Divergent stars Kate, Shailene Woodley and Theo James and is due out in March.
The action adventure centres around a teenager with a unique mind whose life is threatened by an authoritarian leader.
The trilogy of books by US author Veronica is set in the future of a dystopian Chicago and the final book in the series was published last year.
