Vin Diesel has confirmed there will be a sixth and seventh instalment of Fast And The Furious.
The 44-year-old actor stars as Dominic Toretto in the franchise about men with a passion for super cars, and explained to The Hollywood Reporter's Heat Vision blog that the story for the latest sequel had become so big, they had split it into two.
Vin said: "With the success of this last one, and the inclusion of so many characters, and the broadening of scope, when we were sitting down to figure out what would fit into the real estate of number six, we didn't have enough space.
"We have to pay off this story, we have to service all of these character relationships, and when we started mapping all that out it just went beyond 110 pages. The studio said, 'You can't fit all that story in one damn movie!'"
Michelle Rodriguez and Eva Mendes from Furious Five are expected to return, along with franchise stars Paul Walker, Jordana Brewster, Tyrese Gibson, Chris Bridges, Matt Schulze, Sung Kang, Gal Gadot, Elsa Pataky and Dwayne Johnson.
There have also been rumours Jason Statham may be cast in the new sequels.
Filming on Fast And Furious 6 is due to begin next year in Europe, after Vin finishes shooting Riddick 3.
Fast Five director Justin Lin will return and the release date is already set for May 27 2013.
