DeVito receives Douglas' Icon gong
Danny DeVito gave a touching tribute to Michael Douglas as he accepted the Golden Icon Award on his behalf at the Zurich Film Festival.
The Be Cool actor, who has known the Hollywood legend since 1964 and recently co-starred with him in Solitary Man, stepped in for Michael, who is undergoing treatment for throat cancer in New York, reported Variety.
Danny made a reference to his friend's performance in Oliver Stone's Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps, which closed the festival, saying: "Michael is so strong - he gets better and better with every movie he makes, so that's why I tell him to work more."
The festival, which opened on September 23, gave its top award - the Golden Eye - to the Serbian movie, The Woman With A Broken Nose.
The ceremony was attended by Frank Langella, Bob Geldof and Milos Forman, who was presented with the festival's career tribute award by Courtney Love.
