Dern thrilled to work with Anderson
Laura Dern has opened up about her role in Paul Thomas Anderson's next project, The Master.
The Jurassic Park star will appear alongside Amy Adams, Joaquin Phoenix and Anderson regular Philip Seymour Hoffman in the movie, which follows a man returning from the Second World War and starting his own religion.
"It's an amazing experience. Joaquin's such an incredible actor and Philip Seymour Hoffman was in the film, they're doing such incredible work," Laura said.
And the actress described There Will Be Blood director Anderson as a "brilliant" filmmaker.
"I think he's so brilliant and one of our most important visionaries ever in film," she revealed.
Laura stars in new HBO show Enlightened, as a self-destructive woman who undergoes a spiritual awakening and tries to change her life, and those of her friends and family, for the better. Her mother Diane Ladd is also in the series.
Diane said at the show's LA premiere: "I'm proud of the show, I'm proud of the concept and I'm just so proud of my daughter. I mean there are so many shows she could do, but the fact is this is the show that she's bringing to all of her fellow human beings."
It isn't the first time the duo have worked together - Diane earned Oscar nods for her roles alongside Laura in both Wild At Heart and Rambling Rose.
She added: "Work is love, and to get to work with someone you love is a miraculous event, it's a privilege and a pleasure."
