Del Toro close to finding Beast
Guillermo del Toro has revealed that he is "weeks away" from finding a Beast-ly co-star for Emma Watson.
The Pacific Rim filmmaker is directing a new version of Beauty And The Beast, in which the Bling Ring star will play the princess Belle.
"We're waiting to close on the Beast. We are weeks away from getting who plays the Beast," he told MTV.com.
"We're talking to the make-up effects guys who are going to render the Beast. We're going to do a solid, fantastic make-up job. We're going to fuse digital and make-up in a way that I think is quite cutting edge."
Guillermo also revealed how he really wanted to get John Hurt involved in his new TV series, The Strain.
The British actor is set to play Professor Abraham Setrakian, a Holocaust survivor turned New York pawn-shop owner, in the vampire horror show, based on the three novels Guillermo wrote with Chuck Hogan.
"We cast the thing so carefully, from the first part to the last. Getting John Hurt, we pushed the production to wait for him, because there is no other Setrakian," he said.
The Mexican filmmaker, who plans to start shooting The Strain in September, added: "We still have two or three members of the cast to announce, one of which, I think, is going to be a big surprise."
