James D'Arcy has revealed how the writer and director of his new film In Their Skin completely rewrote the script to get him on board.

The Cloud Atlas actor stars with Selma Blair and writer Joshua Close in Jeremy Power Regimbal's psychological drama about a creepy family who befriend their new neighbours and start acting uncomfortably friendly, before things turn nasty.

James revealed: "I met Josh and Jeremy in LA and I really liked them. But they'd written the film more for a sort of red neck to be honest. And I said, 'Look I don't know if I'm the right person for that role but if you wanted to do it slightly differently then I've got a few thoughts and if you were interested in pursuing that maybe it could work with me.'

"And they went, 'We don't want it to to be the way it's written anyway.' And God bless Josh he rewrote the script from top to bottom in a week."

James is working with Cloud Atlas directors Lana and Andy Wachowski again on their new sci-fi film Jupiter Ascending.

He said: "They're the best. They're just amazing human beings. I adore them. I would do anything for them. I don't have a very big part in Jupiter but I am beyond excited to be asked to come back and work with them again. They're two of the most brilliant and lovely human beings I've ever met."
