Danny Dyer's on killer new role
Danny Dyer has revealed how excited he is about playing an abusive serial killer in his next film.
The 33-year-old star of Human Traffic and The Football Factory feels he has been typecast for too long as a hardman, and is embracing the chance to change that with his next movie.
Danny said: "I just got an amazing part in a film called Captured which is really sort of a low budget movie, its a two-hander."
He went on: "I play this serial killer who likes to kidnap women and abuse them and then kill them. And I get this one girl and she's a highly, highly intelligent girl and I try to control her but she gets into my brain a little bit and wants to find out why I'm doing what I'm doing.
"It's a really interesting part, because although I'm playing this evil serial killer I'm real childlike and the challenge is playing the serial killer, someone you know is evil, but you have to warm to it, or try to understand a little bit about why I'm doing it."
The actor, whose autobiography Danny Dyer: Straight Up is published on October 14, would like to change the way casting directors see him.
But he confessed: "You can be the coolest actor in the world with not a pot to p**s in or get out there and earn a pound note and it's quite hard to earn a pound note at the moment, I think everyone's finding that out. We're going through tough times."
