Daniel Radcliffe signs up to comedy
Daniel Radcliffe is to tackle his first comedy role on the big screen in You Shall Know Our Velocity.
The Harry Potter star is attached to the film adaptation of Dave Eggers' bestselling book of the same name, Screen Daily reported.
You Shall Know Our Velocity is a dark comedy about two buddies on a chaotic road trip to scatter their friend's ashes, during which they come up with inventive ways to give away an insurance pay-out to those in need.
Peter Sollett, known for Nick And Norah's Infinite Playlist will direct the indie comedy from Wells Tower's adapted screenplay.
Producer Michael Benaroya said: "Dave Eggers is a gifted storyteller and we are thrilled to be turning his hilarious yet poignant story of two best friends travelling the world into a feature film."
You Shall Know Our Velocity is due to start shooting in spring 2015.
Daniel, 24, grew up on the big screen in the Harry Potter movies. Since the series ended he has appeared in Hammer Horror movie The Woman In Black and played a young Allen Ginsberg in indie drama Kill Your Darlings.
He has also won acclaim for his stage performances in Broadway musical How to Succeed In Business Without Really Trying and dark comedy The Cripple of Inishmaan which has just transferred from the West End to Broadway.
