Cruise's next bite at vampire genre

A few weeks back we wrote about Tom Cruise's career revival, and he's now in line to play Dracula's nemesis, Abraham van Helsing, in a major new Universal picture. Cruise previously played a 1,000-year-old bloodsucker in Neil Jordan's Interview with a Vampire.

hulking out with six-film deal

After the encouraging box office performance of Avengers Assemble, Mark Ruffalo has signed up to play furious green giant the Hulk in a remarkable six-movie deal. Edward Norton and Eric Bana have both played the role in recent years, but Ruffalo's performance in Avengers Assemble is generally considered the best yet.

Earlier this year the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences seemed to be contemplating moving the Oscars away from Hollywood -- and possibly even Los Angeles -- after current venue the Kodak Theatre lost its sponsorship deal. But it was confirmed last week that the newly named Dolby Theatre will remain the home of the Oscars for at least the next two decades.
