Co-stars intimidated by Mark's body
Tina Fey and Steve Carell have admitted they were intimidated by Mark Wahlberg's toned physique in their new movie.
The Lovely Bones actor makes a shirtless appearance in Date Night, which sees the comic pair playing married parents-of-two Claire and Phil Foster.
Tina said: "My appreciation for Mark's physical attributes is more of a scientific one, it is empirically superior - it was hard for me because Mark's chest is prettier than my face, that's hard to deal with."
Steve added: "Was I intimidated? Why no, of course not. I don't want to be attractive, it's nothing I strive to look like or be - so yes, in fact I was."
The Get Smart star has only praise for Mark's performance in the action comedy.
"He had a great sense of humour about poking fun at his own image," he revealed.
"He's known for being a dramatic actor specifically, but he didn't try to be funny, and I think that was key. The character was funny because he took himself seriously, he took the situation seriously and did not put on a shirt. I think that's a real credit to him as an actor."
Steve continued: "I think some dramatic actors feel pigeon-holed and want to bust out and do something funny, but the inclination at times is to try to be funny, as opposed to just playing the character and be assured that the comedy will follow suit."
:: Date Night will be released on April 21.
