Elle Fanning says that Francis Ford Coppola is like a grandfather to her.
The 13-year-old - who previously worked with his daughter Sofia on Somewhere - felt like part of the famous film family when she shot horror thriller Twixt with the acclaimed director.
"It was fun time doing that, because we did it all in Napa Valley at his house. I was staying at his house with him," she told The Playlist.
"We were cooking dinner every night, like pasta. And he's definitely a grandpa to me, I feel, and I'm sort of a part of that family, so I feel so welcomed and it's nice."
The intimate setting of Twixt, the follow-up to 2009 film Tetro, made the set rather comfortable.
"It was not a big crew at all, and we were just having fun.
"He's like, 'try whatever' - it was just great. It was fun, especially with him, seeing him on set, directing... this is a surreal experience. It was like he was making his own homemade movie, at his house," she admitted.
Val Kilmer portrays a horror writer who gets caught up in a murder mystery in a small town involving a young girl (Elle) in the movie.
The film, which also stars Bruce Dern, Joanne Whalley and Ben Chaplin, will be released in the UK next spring.
