Dominic Cooper has hinted that Dino Brewster could break out from jail in a Need For Speed sequel.

The British actor portrays the villain in Scott Waugh's big screen adaptation of the racing game, who is seen being led away in handcuffs and sent to prison during the first film.

"I was meant to die at the end, but when I realised I wasn't falling off the cliff any more, I thought, 'Maybe I could come back'. But I've gone to jail for a very long time... Maybe I'll escape," he teased.

Dominic said he would like to reprise his role if there was a second instalment: " I hope so. I'm sure that's their plan, to make a successful franchise out of it."

The 35-year-old admitted he tried to find a human side to his dastardly and unlikeable character.

"Having watched it again, I thought there's nothing pleasant about him at all. But I think the issue with a character like Dino is not to make him as completely and utterly repulsive from the word go," he said.

"You learn pretty quickly that he's capable of some pretty awful things so I suppose it's about trying to have some idea and understanding of why he does what he does in the film, so he's not an out-and-out bad guy."

Aaron Paul, Imogen Poots and Michael Keaton also star in Need For Speed, which is in cinemas now.
